Foreword to the revised and enlarged edition

More than a year has passed since we gave this seminar on “Addictive Behaviors and Obsessive Compulsive Disorders.” In the meantime, the Sage that speaks through the I Ching has greatly enlarged our understanding, especially regarding two subjects: (1) the Cosmic meaning of burnouts of the rational mind and a person’s will-to-live, and (2) a new approach to freeing ourselves from ego-elements and larger aspects of the ego.

Both new understandings are of primary importance when it comes to the possibility of successfully freeing oneself or another person from an addiction or from an Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.

Regarding (1): We learned that the optimal time to free a person from an addiction or an OCD, is when the person’s rational mind and his will-to-live have “burned out.” The reasons for this are explained in the newly added Appendix.

Regarding (2): The new approach, which consists in becoming aware of the fact that every Cosmic Principle of Harmony is a Helper, has been applied to the instructions for freeing our inner and outer senses of perceptions from all possible obstructions. The new approach has also been applied to the deprogramming procedures provided for common compulsive behaviors, OCD’s, and for the following types of addictions: (a) a work addiction, (b) all substance addictions (except alcohol addictions), and (c) an addiction to negative thinking.
